The National Institutes of Design (NIDs) constitute a cluster of independent public design universities across India. The flagship institute, established in 1961, is located in Ahmedabad, with additional campuses in Gandhinagar and Bengaluru. Other NIDs are situated in Kurukshetra, Vijayawada, Jorhat, and Bhopal. Operating autonomously, these institutions are under the auspices of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Transcripts from NIDs contain the marks of each subject from the first to last semester. This is then placed in an envelope which is sealed and stamped/signed across the back-flap.
Transcripts are usually used by candidates to apply for permanent residency, higher education, visa, H1B, immigration, etc. If you are applying for WES evaluation (ECA) for a job, education, or Canada PR, you need to apply for transcripts from your university, unless your college is Autonomous.
