Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was founded through a legislative Act passed by the Punjab State Legislature in July 1998. The university is dedicated to establishing an environment that encourages the free exchange of ideas and information among the diverse faculties of the institution. It also fosters collaboration between this university and other health sciences universities in India and internationally. This initiative aims to connect health professionals, planners, managers, biomedical and social scientists, and health science educators with global advancements. The university was established in the honor of the esteemed Sufi Saint, Baba Farid, by the Punjab government in July 1998 through an Act of the State Legislature.
