The Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP or CU Himachal) is a prominent research institution located in Dharamshala, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India. Presently, it operates from a temporary campus situated at Shahpur, Kangra district, while awaiting the completion of two permanent campuses in Dehra and Dharamsala. Established in 2009, the university was a result of the government’s initiative to establish Central Universities in states lacking such institutions. The Central University of Himachal Pradesh was established under the Central Universities Act 2009 (No. 25 of 2009) enacted by the Parliament.
