In 2002, Chitkara Educational Trust inaugurated its Punjab campus, situated 30 kilometers from Chandigarh on the Chandigarh–Patiala National Highway. Subsequently, in 2010, the Punjab State Legislature enacted “The Chitkara University Act,” formally establishing Chitkara University.
Recognized by the government, Chitkara University is granted the authority to confer degrees in accordance with Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. Its expansive campus is conveniently positioned, equidistant from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ambala, and Patiala.
