Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, a Central University located in Bilaspur C.G. State, is established under the Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009. Initially known as Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), it was founded by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly and was formally inaugurated on June 16, 1983.
GGU is a vibrant member of both the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
