On September 20, 1989, the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, affectionately referred to as ‘TANUVAS’, emerged as the nation’s inaugural Veterinary University under the Tamil Nadu State Government Act 42 of 1989. However, the roots of TANUVAS trace back to 1876, when the journey began with the establishment of the Madras Veterinary College. Initially conceived as an Agricultural School in Chennai, it provided diploma and certificate courses in the burgeoning field of veterinary and animal sciences.
Transcripts from TANUVAS contain the marks of each subject from the first to last semester. This is then placed in an envelope which is sealed and stamped/signed across the back-flap.
