Vikram University, situated in Ujjain, was established on March 1, 1957. The generous contribution of land for the university was made by Shri Ranchod Lalji Dhabai from Barnagar. The foundation stone for Vikram University was laid on October 23, 1956, by the then Home Minister of India, Shri Govind Vallabh Pant. The ceremony was presided over by the Rajpramukh of Madhya Bharat State, the late Jiwajirao Scindia.
Following the formation of the state of Madhya Pradesh in 1956, the merger of Madhya Bharat into it necessitated amendments to the Act related to the University. The modified Act, known as Vikram University Act No. 13, 1957, was officially published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette on August 16, 1957.
Transcripts from Vikram University contain the marks of each subject from the first to last semester. This is then placed in an envelope which is sealed and stamped/signed across the back-flap.
